Extra Note

Many of the top navigation links are not going to take you anywhere. This is by design, for now. The focus is on my NFT collection at OpenSea, rather than moving forward in the near term with collector box offerings:

I didn’t know I was a terrible person until later in life. As a child I would of never told myself such negative self-talk, as is the case as an adult. Then I thought to myself what do my feelings know? I shouldn’t be listening to this internal unhelpful commentary. In the world of decision-making and investments, failure is natural.

…or something like this:

Supposedly, we all get what we want from the investment markets. But who has such a thirst for failure and self-doubt? Ever hear of a fear of success? Once I discovered it I thought it amusing, but years later I thought, hmmm, maybe there is something to this after all.

As for fun, sometimes I’ve used a stock simulator, and sometimes I frighten myself of how I would of lost. Haven’t felt elation, but sure does offer a nice record for the simulations where I locked in a series of decisions that worked out fine. Is it enough – no – my guess is it could take a journey comprising ten thousand trades to live in each moment to get closer to my interpretation of art.

I somewhat marvel at the investment stories where someone earns a large reward and then loses big, sometimes having to start over. I don’t like the idea of taking such large losses versus withdrawing a portion and setting it aside for more favorable odds and slower growth. The worst thing to me, is not necessarily the loss of the account balance itself, but the impact it would leave as losing one’s goal.

We can’t press reset and start the game over without hardship. In the simulator, we can reset without emotional duress, we can train, and train, and train, though it is never the same as even a small skirmish on the battlefield. Emotions cloud our judgment too easily during the heat of battle. And I for one perform better on a written exam, compared to facing a cannon on the battlefront.

This is the theme of my art – how folks deal with emotional highs and lows, and often lower lows from their involvement in various investments.
